Intelligent power management major, Eaton intends to double the capacity of its medium-voltage assembly lines with a focus on the necessary infrastructure, led by the commissioning of a new block at the manufacturing facility in Sedarapet, Puducherry
The new facility boasts of cutting-edge manufacturing lines to produce air circuit breakers (ACBs) and molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) to serve the industry needs. The company expects to generate at least 200 new employment opportunities following the expansion, even as it sources local talent for its existing 1,000-plus manpowe
The new block spanning about 40,000 sq. ft. will replicate the lean manufacturing concepts and multi-stage quality testing practices in the existing plant. It will also feature a centralised warehouse showcasing its entire range of power distribution products and a customer experience centre for customers
The Rs 100-crore plant expansion will help sustain the 30 percent annual growth record, support the addition of new products (ACBs and MCCBs) to its product portfolio, while aligning with trend forecasts and evolving technology requirements in the industrial, residential, data centres and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) segments
